I'm a Winner!

What is it about the possibility of winning that gets us all excited and hyped up enough to enter a drawing or contest? We know there’s often less than a 1% chance of actually winning, yet somehow, we still keep signing up for that sweepstake or commenting on that Instagram post, all for the chance to claim the prize!

We all have that one friend who always seems to win things—raffles, prizes, tickets. It’s as if the universe is always on their side. I’m always happy for the winners, but I’ve never been one of those lucky people. I’ve entered countless contests, commented on influencer giveaways, and tried my luck, but I never seem to win.

That had to change.

A couple of weeks ago, I was in Florida for a conference and brought my husband and daughter along for the trip. At the second event, I noticed a booth displaying a little battery-operated Tesla car for kids. My daughter, who had been joyfully running around the convention hall, spotted it too. She bolted toward it, jumped in, and pretended to drive. Then, with those big, beautiful blue eyes and the sweetest grin, she asked, “Mommy, is mine?”

My heart melted. In that moment, I knew I had to do everything I could to get her that car. I went to the booth to ask about it and learned it was a contest prize—whoever won would have the car shipped to their home.

And so, I got to work. I asked friends for help, said a few prayers, and hustled. I had to win this for her. For two days, I worked at it, kept thinking about it, and frequently checked back at the booth. My daughter played in the car every time we passed, and I like to think the booth workers were rooting for us.

And guess what? I won! I got her the car. Telling her it was hers and seeing the joy on her face when she hugged me made all the effort worth it.

The car arrived a week later, and she’s been obsessed with it ever since. She’s only three, but driving it gives her a sense of independence, of being in control.

It felt so good to win that for her, and the winning didn’t stop there. At the next conference, I won a $50 Amazon gift card! I loved this feeling.

Winning didn’t just mean the prizes; the entire trip felt like a win. I saw friends and customers, built relationships, made memories, and even got flight change fees waived. My car rental ended up being $300 less than expected, and the whole experience was full of little victories.

Now, I’m embracing this “winning” mentality. It feels good. It’s about working with the natural forces of the world, manifesting abundance, and attracting good things into my life. I’m not saying I’ll win everything, but I’m starting to visualize myself as a winner, using the language of winning in my life. I believe it will make a difference.

Moral of the Story: What do you want to attract more of in your life? Put it out there. Visualize it. Manifest it. Feel it, work for it, and get others involved to make it happen. Most of what we “win” in life comes from the effort we put in and the people who help us along the way.

So, what do you want to win?
